Their Challenge
The Bolt Blowers Invitational is a fundraising event in support of "One In Five", an organisation dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Mental Health research. This year, in addition to the event, Bolt Blowers were interested in holding an auction of donated items during a specific time period before the main event.
Our Solution
We designed, built and programmed a fully functional auction site where users can log in and participate in an online bidding war with other members in real time. Every detail was customized to Bolt Blowers needs including a dynamic auction countdown timer so that visitors will always know exactly when the auction will end. A unique auctioneer character named 'Dude' was created to interact with the bidders. This animated character speaks and displays auction information in a laid back surfer attitude whenever prompted or any bidding action has occurred. Members are emailed updates when bids change and once the auction has ended if they have won an item.
